Would it be okay to be polite with the boss when in doubt? Or would it sound strange?

Hi Salivia,

Good point.
It really depends on your relationship with the boss. Many work places may have a very casual approach to communication. Others may be more conservative.
You may find fomal language in addresses to large groups of people. You might also hear it in business talk between people who are not familiar with one another.

I am confused.
This is a semi-polite conversation, but it is a conversation with your boss. Shouldn't it be polite then?
And if a conversation with the boss isn't polite, which kind of conversation is?
