Learn English with EnglishClass101.com! Being in the middle of something can be wonderful or annoying, depending on what the thing is. Let’s say you’re in a crowded elevator and everyone is jabbering on their cell phones in English…and someone smells less than fresh. Not so pleasant! Another example where being in the middle isn’t so good is when you’re caught between two friends arguing in the English, and you’re trying to play the peacemaker by calming them down and rationalizing with them in English. So maybe now you’re wondering when being in the middle of something might be good! How about when you’re in the middle of eating a delicious molten chocolate cake, and the fudgy center of the dessert oozes onto your plate? That works…as does the middle we’ll tell you about in today’s lesson.

First I had to look up “in medias res” - I thought this is English not Latin XD
Well the special feeling only comes if something isn’t available every time you might want it. Our society has progressed that far, that there isn’t much we cannot get but it applies not only to media but to all fields. I think what became more special is time. especially time spend alone or with loved ones. So there is actually a shift not a loss.
My 2 cents.
