Learn English with EnglishClass101.com! Your friends walk into your house, and one asks in English, “What’s that smell?” You think to yourself in English, “How polite,” as you sniff and try to determine what it is that your friend has noticed. You tell your friend in English, “I don’t smell anything. Is it a good smell or a bad smell?” Your friend responds in English, “Oh, I think it smells like a cat’s litter box.” You respond in English, “Well, we do have one of those…let me go tend to that while you make yourselves at home.” After you clean up the litter box, you come back into the room and find your dogs have taken care of welcoming your guests for you. The same friend who complained tells you in English, “Friendly dogs you have here. Are you running a zoo?” As you assess how to answer in English, you make a mental note not to invite this friend over for lunch again.

In your Lesson Note, you write “cab” as taxi, but in this context, it means “a compartment in front of a motor vehicle where driver sits,” right?
