INTRODUCTION
Counting 11 - 100
In this lesson we’ll continue with counting, as we cover numbers 11 to 100.
SURVIVAL PHRASES
First, let’s have a quick review of 0 to 10.
Zero / Nought
One
Two
Three
Four
Five
Six
Seven
Eight
Nine
Ten
In English, counting from 11-20 is half memorisation, half pattern. After this, however, it gets easier.
11 - eleven
12 - twelve
13 - thirteen
14 - fourteen
15 - fifteen
16 - sixteen
17 - seventeen
18 - eighteen
19 - nineteen
As you may have noticed, from numbers 13 to 19 we add the word teen. That’s why people who are in this age range are called teenagers.
Now, let’s move onto numbers 20 to 100. Please listen to these numbers first.
20 - twenty
30 - thirty
40 - forty
50 - fifty
60 - sixty
70 - seventy
80 - eighty
90 - ninety
100 - one hundred
When you want to say the numbers in between, simply add one of the numbers we learned in the previous lesson. For example, 21 would be twenty-one, 32 would be thirty-two, 67 would be sixty-seven, and 99 would be ninety-nine. It’s as simple as that!
Okay, to close out this lesson we’d like you to practice what you’ve just learned. I’ll provide you with the phrase, and you’re responsible for shouting it out loud. You have a few seconds before I give you the answer. So good luck!
