A microwave is a box you can keep in your house to make things hot again. |
We also use this as a verb. |
When we want to microwave something, we want to make it hot again. |
Here's an example sentence. |
You can microwave an entire dinner in a short time. |
barbecue |
Barbecue can be a noun and a verb. |
As a noun, it's a usually kind of round or perhaps even rectangle shaped grill you can cook things on. |
And when we use it as a verb, it means to use the barbecue to cook things like meat. |
Here's an example. |
The cook barbecues the chicken. |
whiskey |
Whiskey is a popular type of alcoholic drink. |
Whiskey is usually pretty strong and it's usually gold or maybe brown in color. |
Here's an example. |
Whiskey is an alcohol made from grains including corn and malted rye. |
boiling water |
Boiling water refers to water that is so hot that it is bubbling and rolling like this. |
So when water is boiling, it's very dangerous to touch it. |
Here's an example. |
She spilled boiling water on her left hand and has a second-degree burn. |
fruit juice |
Fruit juice refers to a drink juice that is made from fruits. |
So you can find lots and lots of different fruit juices, orange, apple, peach, there are so many different ones. |

Fresh fruit juice is a great way to start any day. |
black tea |
Black tea is a popular type of tea. |
It can have kind of a darker flavor and might have some spices in it too. |
Interestingly, black tea isn't always black in color. |
It's usually a very dark brown. |

Black tea can be bitter without sugar and cream. |
herb tea |
Herb tea is a type of tea that's made from a mixture of things like floral flavors, herbal flavors, and maybe even some spices. |
It's usually very easy to drink and very light. |

I always brew herb tea fromleaves instead of tea bags. |
cafe latte |
A cafe latte is a very popular type of coffee drink. |
A cafe latte is made with coffee and with milk. |
Here's an example. |
I love cafe latte with whipped cream and cinnamon. |
chopsticks |
Chopsticks refers to the two sticks that we can hold with one hand to eat things. |
So it's another type of utensil. |
You can see this in lots of different cultures around the world. |
Here's an example sentence. |
The chopsticks are on the bowl. |
eating utensil |
Eating utensil refers to a tool that we use for eating. |
So we just talked about chopsticks. |
We also commonly use forks, spoons, and knives. |
Here's the example sentence. |
Forks, spoons, and knives are eating utensils. |
