Hello there Branko,

You are welcome and you are correct. That pronunciation would be more of a British pronunciation than an American one.

Americans may pronounce the 'a' sound differently.๐Ÿ‘

It can be confusing I know. I am Australian, but have an English mother (hence my accent more British) but you may consider our Australian accent be different again.

Enjoy your studies!

Cheers,

Eva

Thanks for your answer Eva :)

Isn't "W-O-T." more UK pronunciation, not US?

Also I listened carefully pronunciation 'What will happen next?' in example for next (American), vocabulary.

It's like 't' is dropped in pronunciation 'What'. This is confusing.

Sorry maybe that's not a question for Absolute Beginner LOL

Hi,

can someone help me with pronunciation 'What' in example for 'next' 'What will happen next?'

According to IPA pronunciation for 'what' is /wษ‘หt/. Sorry but I don't hear /wษ‘หt/ here ?!
