Lesson Transcript

Do you know how to express opposing ideas in English?
Welcome to Three Step English Practice by EnglishClass101.com. In this lesson, you will practice how to express opposing ideas in English.
Let’s look at the main dialogue.
Two people are having a conversation.
I can’t believe this is your first time at the tennis club! What do you think?
It’s impressive!
Even though it’s not cheap, I love playing tennis here. The facilities are wonderful!
In this dialogue, this character
Says "Even though it's not cheap, I love playing tennis here."
By using the contrast linker "Even though" with "it's not cheap," they contrast between their two preferences of wanting a place that is cheap and wanting a place they love to play.
Let’s practice with this grammar more in this lesson.
