Michael: Hi everyone, I'm Michael.
Alisha: And I'm Alisha.
Michael: In this lesson, you'll learn how to post and leave comments in English about watching sports. Chris is on the way to the stadium with his friends, posts an image, and leaves this comment:
Alisha: "Here we go! Watching the Super Bowl tonight, come on!"
Michael: Listen to a reading of the post and the comments that follow.

[Michael] Chris: "Here we go! Watching the Super Bowl tonight, come on!"

[Alisha] Jennifer: "You're not forgetting dinner tonight, right?"
[Alisha] Gloria: "You sound psyched!"
[Alisha] Wendy: "We want to see photos!"
[Michael] Alex: "Have fun, but don't get in a fight!"

Alisha: (SLOW) "Here we go! Watching the Super Bowl tonight, come on!"

Michael: Let's break this down.
Alisha: First is the expression "Here we go! Watching the Super Bowl tonight."
Michael: "Here we go!" is an expression used when something exciting is about to begin. The Super Bowl is an annual championship game of the National Football League in America. It's so popular that the game is often the most-watched television broadcast of the year. Listen again.
Alisha: (SLOW) "Here we go! Watching the Super Bowl tonight" (REGULAR) "Here we go! Watching the Super Bowl tonight."
Michael: Then comes the phrase...
Alisha: "Come on!"
Michael: "Come on!" is used when cheering someone up, or cheering for someone - it can also be used sarcastically depending on the tone. Listen again.

Michael: Use this expression to show you are feeling the other personโ€™s excitement.
Michael: His high school friend, Wendy, says...

Michael: Use this expression to show interest in what is happening.
Michael: His nephew, Alex, says...
Alisha: (SLOW) "Have fun, but don't get in a fight!" (REGULAR) "Have fun, but don't get in a fight!"

Michael: Use this expression to show you are feeling cynical about the eventโ€™s patrons.
