Do you know how to make future arrangements in English? |
Welcome to Three Step English Practice by EnglishClass101.com. In this lesson, you will practice making future arrangements in English. |
Let’s look at the main dialogue. |
Two people are having a conversation. |
Well, let me talk to my wife and see what I can do. |
That would be great! We’ll be waiting for you at 7 p.m. |
In this dialogue, this character |
says "We'll be waiting for you at 7 p.m." |
The first three words of the sentence put it into the future continuous tense, which is used to make future arrangements. "We'll" is a contraction of "we will." "We" is the noun which will be taking the action, and "will" sets up the future continuous tense, "be waiting." The future continuous tense is formed by combining "will be" with a progressive or continuous verb, made by appending "-ing" to the base verb. |
Let’s practice with this grammar more in this lesson. |
